Role Overview:

We’re looking for a project-based BI specialist to build financial analytics dashboards and reports using Sigma (embedded analytics platform). Starting with specific dashboard creation projects with potential for ongoing partnership based on performance and business needs.

Technical Context:

Our client’s platform integrates with QuickBooks, banking data, and manual spreadsheet uploads

Goal: Enable fractional CFOs to create professional client dashboards without technical skills

Project Structure:

Initial Project: Build 3-5 template dashboards for fractional CFO client reporting (estimated 20-40 hours)

Follow-up Projects: Custom client dashboard implementations (5-10 hours each)

Long-term Partnership Potential: Ongoing collaboration as client scales their analytics offerings

Key Responsibilities:

• Build custom dashboards and reports in Sigma embedded analytics platform

• Create financial data visualizations (P&L analysis, cash flow forecasting, variance reports)

• Develop reusable dashboard templates for different industries/use cases

• Implement "report builder" interfaces that allow end-users to customize views

• Work with various data sources (QuickBooks, Plaid, banking APIs, spreadsheet uploads)

• Translate business requirements from finance professionals into working dashboards

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience with BI tools (Sigma preferred, but Tableau/Power, BI/Looker transferable)

• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

• Experience with data modeling and SQL queries

• Proven ability to create clear, actionable financial visualizations

• Understanding of KPIs relevant to small businesses and fractional CFOs

Highly Preferred:

• Previous work at accounting firms, consulting firms, or fintech companies

• Experience building dashboards for non-technical finance users

• Understanding of fractional CFO workflows and client reporting needs

• Familiarity with small business financial challenges (cash flow, forecasting, variance analysis)

• Experience with API integrations and data transformation

• Experience creating embedded analytics experiences or white-label dashboard solutions

• Experience building analytics products that end-users can customize themselves

• Strong SQL skills with ability to create indexes, views, and materialized tables independently

• Experience working directly with databases to optimize query performance and create custom data structures

• Comfortable materializing tables and creating data transformations without requiring engineering support

Working Style:

• Can work independently with business requirements

• Comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical finance professionals

• Available for some overlap with US EST hours for collaboration

• Able to iterate quickly based on user feedback

• Proven track record of delivering complete projects on time and within scope
