Logistics Manager
If you’re a bilingual Logistics Manager based in Buenos Aires, and have experience in the CPG industry, we want to meet you.
THIS ROLE IS ONLY FOR CANDIDATES BASED IN BUENOS AIRES.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Logistics Manager to join a fast-growing, better-for-you CPG company with a strong presence across major U.S. retailers and a globally distributed manufacturing network. The company operates with a lean, remote-first team and is currently investing in systems, processes, and organizational capabilities to support its next phase of growth.
The Logistics Manager will take full ownership of all physical product movement, both international and domestic. This role is not a coordinator role. It is a management role with ownership of carrier relationships, cost optimization, and trade compliance. The Logistics Manager will be expected to identify and capture savings through direct carrier contracting, customs brokerage optimization, and systematic cost management — with a clear Year 1 savings target against the current logistics spend baseline.
Key Responsibilities
1. International Logistics
Manage all international freight relationships — ocean and air — across carriers and freight forwarders.
Own container booking, tracking, and ETD/ETA monitoring for all inbound shipments from co-manufacturers in Europe, Middle East and South America.
Manage all shipping documentation: ISF, Bill of Lading, packing lists, certificates of origin
Proactively escalate and resolve port delays, documentation gaps, and carrier issues across time zones
Conduct systematic accessorial controls— compare every carrier and 3PL invoice against contracted rates before payment. Identify, dispute, and resolve overcharges.
Evaluate and execute airfreight when required — multi-provider quotes, ocean vs. air cost-benefit analysis, execution and tracking
Maintain a live, unified logistics tracker covering all active shipments, ETAs, and document status — replacing the current fragmented manual process
2. Customs & Trade Compliance
Manage all CBP filings and ACE portal activity — entries, reconciliations, and protest filings
Own tariff classification for all imported products and proactively monitor tariff changes and their P&L impact
Manage customs broker relationships — evaluate separating brokerage from freight forwarding to improve cost transparency and expertise
Leverage applicable trade agreements to minimize duty exposure
Coordinate reimbursement claims and protest filings where applicable
Stay current on trade compliance requirements across all active sourcing countries
3. Domestic Transport — Strategy & Cost Optimization
Own the carrier relationship with actual vendors and evaluate alternatives — including direct carrier contracting on high-volume, recurring lanes.
Negotiate rates, manage contract terms, and maintain a carrier scorecard tracking on-time performance and cost vs. market
Conduct systematic pre-payment accessorial controls — compare every carrier and 3PL invoice against contracted rates before payment. Identify, dispute, and resolve overcharges.
Lead a formal rate benchmarking process across all domestic transport lanes — at minimum every 6 months.
Analyze freight spend by lane, carrier, and mode to identify optimization opportunities; present findings and recommendations to SC Director
Evaluate and manage reefer transport requirements for temperature-sensitive products
4. Vendor Claims & Insurance
Own all logistics-related vendor claims: cargo damage, wet boxes, customs reimbursement, carrier credit disputes
Maintain an open claims tracker with status, responsible party, expected recovery, and follow-up dates
Coordinate with Finance on claims accruals and recoveries
Manage cargo insurance policy and ensure claims are filed accurately and on time
5. Reporting & KPIs
Own logistics KPI reporting: freight spend vs. budget, premium freight rate, on-time departure from co-mans, carrier scorecard, accessorial charges as % of freight spend
Contribute monthly to the COGS review meeting with Finance — logistics cost breakdown by mode, carrier, and warehouse
Maintain the logistics section of the weekly SLT update slide
Build and maintain the Logistics Tracker 2.0 — a unified, real-time shipment dashboard pulling from carrier APIs, replacing the current manual multi-portal process
Requirements
Experience
5+ years of supply chain experience with a focus on international logistics, freight management, and trade compliance
Advanced english skills both written and verbal.
Demonstrated experience managing carrier relationships — both brokers and direct carriers — including rate negotiation and contract management
Hands-on experience with customs processes: CBP filings, tariff classification, duty drawback or protest filings is a strong plus
Experience in CPG, food & beverage, or a similarly complex multi-SKU, multi-location supply chain environment preferred
Familiarity with ocean freight, LTL/FTL, and airfreight across North American and international lanes
Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system; comfort with carrier portals (Flexport, Maersk portal, ACE)
Natural curiosity to explore alternatives to work faster and better leveraging AI tools when possible.
Skills & mindset
Analytical: comfortable with freight cost analysis, rate benchmarking, and building business cases for cost reduction initiatives
Detail-oriented: this role has significant financial exposure — invoice accuracy, claims management, and tariff classification all require precision
Proactive and ownership-driven: does not wait for issues to escalate; monitors, flags, and resolves
Comfortable in a lean, remote-first environment where processes are being built rather than inherited
Strong written and verbal communication in English — carrier negotiations, internal stakeholder updates, and cross-functional coordination all require clear, professional communication
Nice to have
Familiarity with Amazon FBA inbound logistics
Prior experience evaluating or implementing a Logistics TMS or shipment tracking dashboard
Experience building or managing a carrier direct contracting program
